PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT

In 1981, INTACE developed the fungicide INTACE B-350 which has since become an industry standard in the production of mold resistant papers for soap wrappers, bottle labels and the backings of vinyl coated floor coverings and wallpaper.

INTACE B-350 has been approved for applications by major multinational corporations including PROCTER & GAMBLE, UNILEVER, EVIAN, and COLGATE-PALMOLIVE. In addition to B-350, INTACE has developed several new fungicide formulations which provide improved long term protection against mold growth under difficult climatic conditions.

In 1990, INTACE expanded its range of paper industry products to include biocides for the prevention of bacterial slime deposits in paper machine piping and wires. INTACE simultaneously launched a range of detergents for cleaning paper machines and auxiliary equipment.

INTACE’s latest project is the formulation of a new fungicide effective against carbendazim-resistant molds. This new product, B-6773, has achieved important testing results against such molds as well as against molds that commonly grow on cellulose substrates. B-6773 is more cost-effective and less toxic than many of its competitors, and will lead the way for a new line of competitive INTACE fungicides.
