Since its founding in 1980, INTACE s.a. has acted principally as a specialty chemical manufacturer, marketer and agent/distributor to the paper industry. The company’s product line includes fungicides for mold resistant paper and paperboard, biocides and dispersants for machine circuits, surface sizing and specialty products for treating paper surfaces. While INTACE's main center of activity is in France, it has been very successful in expanding sales to other European countries, South East Asia, and South America.
For the past 12 years, INTACE has been associated with ELF-ATOCHEM, now ATOFINA, developing and marketing fluorinated hydrocarbon products used in the manufacture of grease-resistant papers. In 1993 this cooperation was extended to include surface sizing agents.
INTACE is committed to the research and development of more effective and environmentally-friendly chemical products. To achieve these objectives, INTACE maintains close ties with both the Centre Technique du Papier at the University of Grenoble, and the Chemical Department at the University of Lille.
INTACE & THE ENVIRONMENT
INTACE has always endeavored to produce, market and distribute specialty chemical products with the lowest possible toxicity levels for humans, animals and the environment. As such, the introduction of its B-350 fungicide in 1981 represented a dramatic improvement to the industry-standard fungicide, pentachlorophenate. Since that time, B-350 has replaced this far more toxic compound in virtually all manufacturing applications.
